VTech Kidizoom SmartWatches
This cool-looking and affordable smartwatch from Vtech is a great gift idea for kids between 3 to 9 years of age. The Kidizoom SmartWatch is not only a cool toy, but very functional and educational.
As we have seen the rise and popularity of wearable technology, this kids’ smartwatch was introduced by Vtech to get kids with the times. It is a smartwatch, so it does have the standard functions of a regular watch like keeping track of time and setting an alarm, but it can do so much more.
First off, it has over 50 watch face designs or dials which include the standard analog displays as well as digital displays. It has a 1.4-inch color touch-screen which is very fluid and responsive making it easy to use and navigate through. It includes a camera with which kids can take pictures (640x480 pixel resolution) as well as record short video clips. It also has a voice recorder. The alarm clock has a variety of fun tones along with animation.
It has a timer and a stop-watch which allows kids to do fun things like race and keep track of their time. The Kidizoom SmartWatch is equipped with 128 MB internal memory. It comes with four fun and learning game apps which include Super Detective, Rotating Puzzle, Finger Dance, and Time Master. It is made of rubberized plastic so it’s durable and can withstand small drops.
It has a built-in rechargeable Li-ion Polymer battery which can last up to 2 weeks (as per Vtech), but based on regular usage, it should last about 2 to 3 days. It is not water-proof, but is splash and sweat-proof. This smartwatch comes with a USB cable to help charge the battery as well as with downloading data (photos/videos) and apps. It also connects with Vtech’s Learning Lodge app store. It comes in four different colors: blue, pink, green, and white.

Zoomer Dinos
Zoomer Dino is a life-like robotic dinosaur manufactured by Spin Master, a global entertainment, robotics, toy and digital gaming company founded in Toronto, Canada.
They come in different colors and have different names like Boomer, Bonekruncher, Snaptail, Krimson, and others, as you can see from this picture featured here.
They are quite unique from the other dinosaur toys I’ve seen. For one, they are robotic and can maintain their balance on two feet while moving like real life-like dinosaurs. The dinos are able to maintain their balance on two feet and balance themselves using the True Balance Technology™ that they are equipped with. They are agile and make dinosaur sounds as they roam around freely.
These cool robotic dinosaurs are interactive and have several mode in which they operate. For example, they have a free-mode in which they go around freely exploring by themselves. If you pull their tail while in this mode, they get angry, their eyes turn red, they spin around and roar in anger. In the remote-control mode, the dino can be controlled using a control pad. In gesture-mode, the dinos can be tamed using hand gestures. This allows your child to interact with the dino like a pet.
On the funny side, these pre-historic pets may even burp and fart (minus the nasty smell) as your child plays with the dino. Zoomer Dinos will make great gifts for children above 5 years of age. Priced over $100, they are a little on the expensive side for a toy, but given the robotic design and interactive nature of this innovative toy, I think you will find it worth it. It will take a little adjusting for your child to get used to using the control pad in order to control the dinosaur, but I think children will love this toy.
Depending on which Zoomer Dino you get, the package will include the Zoomer Dino, control pad, USB charging cable, and an instruction booklet. The remote control pad requires 3 AAA batteries which are not included in the package. In some of the packages like the Zoomer Dino Bonekruncher, you will also get a bone in the package.
